We all understand the limitations of manual cleaning. Increased manual labour, chemical and water usage create unnecessary drains on business resources. This coupled with the health and safety implications of manual handling and contact with hazardous substances are leading to more and more companies looking for engineered solutions.

Rotajet offer full turnkey drum reconditioning facilities to account for the largest . Even the smallest Single-Track Automatic Drum Washer offered by Rotajet can wash up to 60 drums per hour, with the larger, multi-track drum washers offering the ability to clean hundreds of drums per hour. Each Automatic Drum Washer offered by Rotajet is fitted with the following reconditioning zones as standard:

  1. Caustic Wash. This stage is specially designed to remove the bulk of contaminants such as chemical residues from the drum.
  2. Freshwater Rinse. This stage will remove any remaining contaminants as well as cleaning liquids from the drum.

To make sure the drums are ready for reuse, a drying zone can be added as a final stage to remove any remaining liquid from the drum. To increase the throughput rate, Rotajet can increase the number of stations in the automatic drum washing line to reduce transfer time. A Drum Crusher or Pressure Tester can also be added to your reconditioning line to eliminate drums that could potentially be hazardous and cause leaks.

Depending on the specific application, Rotajet offers tailored solutions that will meet the exact needs of your operation.

Washing anywhere from one to hundreds of drums in one operation, these solutions have been used across a range of industries around the world. To account for the varied use of drums, they are available in many different sizes and materials so that they are suitable for holding anything from powdered food goods to flammable chemicals, gases and oils.

A standard drum can range anywhere between 60 to 220 Litres, and can be made from steel, plastic, or dense paperboard (fibre drum), with the most commonly used drum holding around 208 Litres.

When it comes to drum washing, it’s important to take into account the different sizes and materials of the drums to ensure that the best cleaning quality is achieved. A Rotajet Drum Washing Machine is the ideal solution for washing any sized drum from 60L all the way up to 220L. Fitted with 360 degree rotating spray nozzles, this stainless steel machine ensures complete coverage of the drum to achieve a high quality of cleaning. For larger operations, a Twin Position Drum Washer (RJ-DW2) can process up to 160 drums per day, or the Four Position Drum Washer (RJ-DW4) offers as many as 320 per day. To meet the varying needs across the different industries and companies, all of these drum washing machines are capable of holding from 60L up to 220L drums.

The versatility of drums makes them ideal for use across a range of industries for carrying a broad spectrum of liquids, semi-solids and powders. Their various sizes and structures make them durable and reliable for use, even through extensive temperature, pressure and humidity changes, without compromising their structure or causing leaks.

Due to their reliable and multipurpose design, it’s no surprise that drums are such a popular, globally adopted method for storing and transporting goods. This is reflected in the market, which has experienced a high demand for drums since their invention, with the plastic drum market predicted to reach $3775.35 million by 2026 and steel drum market expected to reach $7109.80 million by the same year.

With drums can be used time and time again for carrying bulk liquids; ensuring that maximum profit is made. With the help of a drum reconditioning machine, the maximum lifespan of a drum can be guaranteed, so that costs of replacement can be kept to a minimum.
